About Pokémon Void
Pokémon Void is a single-player, story-driven Pokémon fan game by solo developer RFG (Rory), built in RPG Maker XP with Pokémon Essentials v17.2. Roughly 5.5 years in the making, its complete v1.9 build released in March 2022. It is set in the Stronym region — a disaster-ravaged, post-apocalyptic world told through environmental storytelling rather than exposition, with a darker tone and morally grey factions.
Instead of traditional gyms, the campaign is structured around 8 Assignments, and the roster adds about 76 fully-animated custom “Void” fakemon (#722–797) on top of the returning National Dex. Two systems define its difficulty: a custom Void type, and dynamic enemy level-scaling that keeps trainers at or above your level — so type coverage matters far more than grinding. The main story runs about 12–14 hours.
Not to be confused with “PokéVoid.” Pokémon Void is RFG’s standalone RPG. “PokéVoid” is an unrelated PokéRogue roguelike mod (and there’s a same-named creepypasta). This is an unofficial fan reference — all data here is datamined from the game’s v1.9 files.
Is Pokémon Void the same as PokéVoid?
No. Pokémon Void is RFG’s single-player story RPG built in RPG Maker XP. "PokéVoid" is an unrelated PokéRogue roguelike mod, and there is also a same-named creepypasta. This wiki only covers RFG’s Pokémon Void.
How many Pokémon are in Pokémon Void?
The game includes the full returning National Dex plus 76 brand-new custom "Void" fakemon (#722–797), each with full battle animations — 741 obtainable species in total.
What is the Void type?
Void is a custom type RFG added on top of the standard 18. Several late-game fakemon and signature moves use it, and it has its own offensive and defensive matchups in the type chart.
Can you lose to your rival Chad?
Yes — and several Chad battles are designed to be losable with no story penalty. RFG built Chad as a rival who genuinely outclasses you; the third fight is the hardest in the game. Bring type coverage rather than raw levels.
How long is Pokémon Void and is it finished?
The main story runs roughly 12–14 hours. It is complete: development took about 5.5 years and the final v1.9 build released in March 2022.
Why don’t enemy levels stay below mine?
Pokémon Void uses dynamic enemy level-scaling — trainers scale to your team, so you cannot simply out-grind a fight. Win with type advantages, status moves and coverage instead.
